Biomass Crop Assistance Program
The Centers of Innovation for Agribusiness and Energy cordially invite you to attend a briefing by the USDA’s Farm Service Agency on the key provisions of the recently unveiled Biomass Crop Assistance Program. The event begins at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22nd at the NESPAL Building located on the UGA Tifton Campus. All growers are encouraged to attend this presentation.
The Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP) was established by the 2008 Farm Bill as a new Title IX energy program. The goal of the new program is to promote the cultivation of bioenergy crops that show exceptional promise for producing highly energy-efficient bioenergy or biofuels and to develop those new crops and cropping systems in a manner that preserves natural resources. BCAP crops are classified as those that are not primarily grown for food or animal feed.
